The Uganda Cranes captain Denis Onyango retires from the national team after FUFA President Moses Magogo‘s ‘shitty football’ comment following the team’s poor performance in AFCON. Onyango’s retirement comes days after vice-captain Hassan Wasswa also retired from the Cranes.

An audio recording reported to be Uganda Cranes Captain Denis Onyango attacking FUFA President Moses Magogo made rounds on social media on Sunday. In the voice, Onyango threatens never to play for Uganda Cranes for as long as Magogo is FUFA President.

He stated on social media that “It is with a heavy heart that I am announcing my retirement from international football,”

” After much consideration, my family, managers and I, decided it was in my best interest to hang my gloves on my beloved Cranes. Big thanks to every Ugandan over the years.”

Many Ugandans took to social media to share their views on the shocking retirement of their skipper Denis Masinde Onyango.
