The Uganda Law development center, LDC has yesterday Tuesday 16th February 2021, officially launched It’s Lira study center.
The director of Law Development Centre, Frank Nigel Othembi said the Lira University campus is academically signed as the other LDC campuses.
For Lira study center in particular, Frank said Bar course will also offer other short courses.
He also confirmed that with the 3 campuses, Mbarara, Kampala and Lira, he also confirmed that LDC will admit 2000 Bar course law students.
LDC Lira University study center has so far admitted 300 students for the first intake in which some are studying online.
Lira Chief Magistrate, Ms. Janeva Natukunda who represented Lira resident Judge in gracing the event as the chief guest thanked LDC for opening Lira Branch which will bring services closer to both the students and the community.
She later urged the teachers to take on upbringing the law students seriously and make the students smart as required in the law profession. Then also to make the students love the Profession.
The Deputy vice chancellor Academic affairs of Lira University, Prof. Okaka Dokotum said the coming of LDC is a blessing to the region because services that used to be far away in the Capital Kampala will be available at Lira University.
He also added that the community also around the University will gain a lot from the business aspects as they offer their services to these University students that will eventually accommodate around the University.
Alex Oremo A lot, the Chairperson L.C V Lira district thanked Lira University for accepting his guidance upon bringing LDC closer to the people of Lango. He later concluded and said LDC will benefit not only Lango but the entire country.
Sam Atul, Lira City Mayor Elect Said the center will be of great importance to both the Leaders and the students. It is now clear that our law students of Lango now have higher chances of opportunities.
