Supporters and well-wishers of national Resistance Movement in Lira on Saturday evening matched with jubilations in almost all the streets in Lira city.
The Match started from Golf Course field Lira as they moved in convoys to various parts of the city.
At around 4:30pm, the crowd had started moving on the streets as they ululated for the new elect president Yoweri Kaguta T. Museveni’s victory that was announced that evening.
Museveni was in a race with 10 other presidential candidates in which he emerged victorious after being announced by the electoral commission at 4pm that evening.
After his declaration that evening, the whole city was painted yellow, meanwhile trade was at a paused due to fear of street kids that may rise to rebuke the move of the yellow team since many of the Street Kids are said to be part of National Unity platform.
George Abudul, Youth Presidential campaign manager, Lango who spearheaded the movement congratulated His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for exhibiting his experience and the leadership that made many Ugandans vote for him. This has made most Ugandans to trust and believe in him.
The results got from Lango has made us so proud as people who have been at the forefront in protecting the votes of Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and its our hope that Lango will get the reward for the votes cast.
Abudul also congratulated the members of parliament who went through under the yellow flag.
